    Default Touching up

Got a small area of paint missing right on the edge of the drivers door, so i've bought a vauxhall touch up kit paint and clearcoat. I've noticed that a small part is right down to the metal, should i use a primer first as the vauxhall kit on the back just mentions cleaning off any rust then applying base coat. As there isn't any rust is this wise or should i still use a little grey primer which i still have from my old halfords kit from previous vectra c ? Want to get it sorted before the bad weather arrives. Not had this one long it's a 58 plate 1.8vvt 16v sri in sapphire black only got 19,700 miles on it so want to look after this one as my old car was kindly written off this summer by some idiot whilst on holiday.

You need to use an acid etch primer on the bare metal
