    Default Not Starting

My car (52 plate 2.2 Non direct) has been sat for 4 months whilst I was out of the country, the battery is fine since it was disconnected, but I have tried to start it today and it will not start.

I can here the fuel pump priming when I turn the ignition

There is no fuel pressure at the fuel rail (ie when I take the cover of the pressure drain plug and depress the pin, no fuel comes out!)

first steps are gonna be checking the fuel filter and probably reverse flushing the fuel line to clear anything that might be blocking it, just wondering if anybody has any clues as to where to start?

I've got same prob on my 1.9 8v pretty much. My garage had it for a week already and only ruled things out. See my post last night.

    Hope we get some ideas?

I seem to have narrowed it down to the fuel pump on the tank itself... with the pipe off the pump, when I turn the ignition, the pump primes, but no fuel comes out, which leads me to two possible explanations:
a: there isn't enough fuel in the tank for the pick to be able to get any fuel - my drive is very steep! (though I've never had this problem before)
b: there is something blocking the pumps inlet

Sounds like you have better luck than me. Few threads saying how to check pump are you checking before or after the fuel filter? (if you have one) When you turn the ignition can usually hear the pump prime the system on mine.

With your car in her older years fuel lines blocked up? Crap in fuel tank blocking entrance to fuel lines when On slope? (try parking opposite way and a strong fuel line cleaner?) and you could just need tank and system flushed??
Least you may have narrowed it down a good bit it seems?

Ok so the moral of my story, check simple stuff before messing around with pumps etc....
put it on to level ground and it started right away!!

My suggestion would be to remove the rear seats, get down to the pump assembly, remove the appropriate pipe which leads out (they're labeled with arrows depending on the direction of flow), surround with rags to soak any fuel, turn the ignition on if fuel comes out then the pump is fine, repeat as necessary at various points along the fuel system

My lot done all that already. For me it's either faulty sensor on rail or the ecu has been scrambled but disgnostics showing all ok.
