    Default TomTom Voice

What voice do you use in yours and why?

I currently have got Yoda active. No particular reason though apart from the comedy value.

    Currently using Jane.
Cleese is funny first, but a bit annoying after a while.
Ozzy Ozbourne with full swearing makes me laugh too much to concentrate
Darth Vader scares me too much, especially in the dark......

Used to use Jane way back when I first got my TomTom (v3) but started to find the voice a bit sharp and irritating after a while - so I switched to Tom.

I'd like to point out that I'm referring to the TomTom voice Jane and not the Jane voice in the passenger seat which would be my wife!!

    Tom or Tim?!

My wife will only have Tim on there, so at every opportunity I switch it for something really annoying - usually sounding like a US newsreader or Aussie Sheila surfer chick! Not much fun any more... as she now knows how to change it back!

I tried to confuse the wife by using one of the Spanish voices - she was really impressed until she realised that you look at the screen as well as listen to the voice (dumb blonde alert!!!!!)

Normally I have Jane (on the TomTom that is) - you can't beat a domineering woman!!!!! (Well you can but she usually punches you back)

    LOL!!! Quality!!!.

Does it actually come out like that?.

I have the bog standard female voice that the TT One comes with as default, but might investigate some new ones.

Can you download these ( legally or otherwise.......tut, tut ) from somewhere online?.

Fully legal and easy to do. There are other available too, just Google Tomtom voices

Then just copy the files for each voice into the 'Voices' folder on the TomTom, and you're ready to select them.

Yes, Yoda does speak like that too..

Yep, just go to the TomTom website - the standard ones are free and I think you pay for some of the other ones. Look under PLUS services.

If you've got version 5 or 6 of the software, and re cradled to the PC, you can download the voices straight into the unit.
