Default Lots and lots of threads on diesel remaps but what about a GSI?

    Hi all

I've been trawling round the forum to find some recommendations for a remap and can safely say MAS are the people to see for a diesel remap (if I've missed that they can do mine, my bad) but what about for the GSI?

I've read about the EDS IPF system but the borewash stories put me off a bit so want to check out a live remap.

So who are 'the' people to see for a GSI remap? I'm in Northamptonshire but can travel a bit, got to have a good test drive on the way back right!?

    Cheers in advance

Save your money and don't bother with a remap on a v6 GSI.

Give it a good service instead.

Ha, ha that was a no nonsense answer! I service it every 6 - 7k miles anyway. I guess you're talking from experience? I know that I'm not going to get much of a gain in power but have read that a few people have seen an increase in drive-ability. I was thinking of a decat and remap and going to Angel Tuning.

Got a GSI yes, spoken to member with mapped GSI and the couple of bhp extra is hardly worth it... The manicats are what restricts these cars, but ecu makes then near impossible to get around.

Will look good on spec sheet, but will you notice it???
Im sure someone with a remapped GSI will come on and say how there car had been transformed with a remap now tho. Lol

Might be worth sending a PM to a user called Drinky on here. He has a 3.2 Signum with a remap and enlarged exhaust manifolds on. I'm not sure on the pre-cat story though. Can only ask!

Why not? yes the pre cats do limit big bhp gains but the 3.2 still responds to a remap though a few mods may be needed... redbitz remapped mine at hitech motorsport on 2 occasions with worthwhile gains (concidering it cost me around £175 per session). All figures are at wheels..decat/zorst/filter/std map= 181, decat/zorst/filter/remap= 204, decat/zorst/filter/g exhaust cams/2nd remap= 214.
