    Default Swirl Flaps replaced, still got fault code!!

    Hi Guys,

    I had the Swirl Flap mod kit fitted to my Vectra 2.2 (Z22YH engine) as I had the fault code P1112 present in ECU memory. It was fitted Friday just gone and the garage cleared the fault code which made the emission light go out.

    Happy days I thought after shelling out a total of £340!

    But today, after having driven only 26 miles since the mod kit was fitted, the emission light came back on. Read the code and it was showing the same P1112 code. What could now be causing the fault as the flaps have been replaced so not sticking??? I have been told possibly the actuator motor is on the way out hence why the emission light is not always on, it does sometimes go out with engine running but not that often. Could the motor be my original fault and not the flaps??? I have had no problems in the 5 years I have owned the car but now I can't seem to get this one code cured, starting to get to me now!!

    Any suggestions what I could try next?? how can I check to see if the motor is working correctly??? Could it be dodgy ECU???

    Thanks.

    After having a chat with the mechanic and explaning all the symtoms he advised me to think about replacing the MAF sensor. It would certainly be a cheaper option than the Actuator motor and is something I can replace myself.
    When the emission light is on, with code P1112, the car:
    takes longer to start, about 3 to 5 secs
    has a slightly 'jerky' idle
    loss of power over 2000 revs, have to put foot to floor in order to get speed
    using higher rate of fuel
    temp gauge reading slightly over the normal 85
    MPG has gone slighly down

    Nope, even changing the MAF has done nothing. Emission light came back on 20 miles after changing the MAF & clearing the code.

    Default

    i have the 1112 issue also. on my car, i get the P1112(61) code- swirl flap stuck and the P1112(64) code- swirl flap adaption stuck. first one comes once in a while but without the EML light. the second one comes with the EML light but once the fault has gone, the EML light goes off( usually after 10 miles or so). One thing I realised: this faults I get them if I drive the car under 2000rpm for a few miles.
    So....how I solved the problem? just drive the car over 2000 rpm and that's it...
    I am sick of spending money with my car so I don't think I will try anything else because I plan to sell the car soon and the next one it's not going to be a Vauxhall...
