Default Lights and other electrics cutting out when car is reved

    Hi
I'm new to this forum lasy night the wife was driving home and the lights power steering just stopped working. Had greenflag out found the dreaded fault code p1109 i have have the car spanner light on a couple of time but it resets when you stop.anyway had a look and the swirl bar has totaly broken off ordering a new manifold tomorrow but would this cause the electrics to cut out?

think P1109 is stuck inlet flaps? and no that wouldnt cause the problems your having.

A poor battery can cause the dimming to occur, as it's purpose once the engine is started is to smooth out increases in demand from the electrical system. Also check the earth connections from engine to bodywork are in good condition.

will check earth connections a the weekend while doing the inlet manifold. battery was a new when the alternator was changed. Guess im going to have to get it checked out when its running could be anything from a loose connection to a relay. What ever happened to the day when you could count the wires under your bonnet on one hand.
