Default Rear suspension bush (lower) How do I change it?

As per the title. Found a how2 but it was for the upper bush, not the lower one. Noticed it today while changing the rear shocks. The rubber around the bush is all perished.

Does anyone know the part number, how to change it, and can it be changed in situ or does the whole rear hub assembly need to come off the car?

Also, could this be the cause of a rear wheel droning noise?

ok, from what I can gather, this is called the lower control arm bush.

The part number 'might' be 24469643

    Can anyone confirm?

Else I'll have to nip down to the dealers Monday and get the parts dept to look on the computer.

it can be done in situ i did it on my old vec . needed alot of penetrating oil though lol and you'll need a bush removal toolor you could make your own sure theres a how to on this . more or less the same except you have to put a jack under the control arm while you take the bolt out then once the bolt is out release the jack and pull down the lower arm for access to the bush and use the bush tool to take it out then use the tool again to put the new bush in . ..... heres the how to i think contains a wee bit about the bush tool, http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...l-Arms-Easilly

Thanks simplesi. I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed at the lack of replies from anyone else.

Can anyone confirm the part number?

    Is it 24469643?

I also found this as well.
    Number 24417090 for cars with chassis number up to and including 58999999;
13204109 for chassis number 61000001 and onwards.

    Does anyone know?

Also, does anyone have the bush dimensions so I can make a removal tool?

did you get a price from vx on the bush as urs is in perfect condition when you compare it to mine.
but i thought droning was caused by the tyres
been looking for any info about it but cannot seem to find anything on it.
once you have done it would you be able to do a quick description on whats needed. to make the removal tool you could get dimensions from the new bush
    thanks

No, I haven't had time to phone or drop in. But there seems to be several on the net to buy at prices from £10 to £20 each. The other side of the bush, the rubber is all split and perished. Unfortunately I couldn't get a decent photo of the worst side.

The droaning on the offside rear tyre only happens at approx 40 to 45 mph. At any other speed it's not there at all. I'm just wondering because of the worn bush there is some kind of resonance at just that particular speed. I've substituted another tyre and wheel in its place and the exact same thing happens.

This is where I found the part No. 24469643. Seems to match when googling for it elsewhere.
