Default Fuel Trim Malfunction and idle problem after plug and oil change

    Hi everyone!

Has been quite a while since I have posted on here!

I changed the plugs and the oil today but after putting everything back together, I've got the problem.

    It's a GSI so the 3.2 V6.

Plugs were changed from standard VX plugs to Denso Iridiums.

On first start, it was idling really lumpy, next start was idling at 1,500 rpm and now after a drive, I have the fuel trim malfunction on both banks and a 1,500 rpm idle.

It's got to be something I have done but I don't know what.

    So far I have:

Checked that all the vac hoses I took off are now back on
Checked the gasket on the TB
Taken the chamber cover off and the black thing inside, reseated.

Any ideas? I'm hoping it's not the plugs, wouldn't have thought that they would cause an idle problem so I'm thinking of an air leak but don't know where/what to check.

    Thanks in advance

Cheers. Do you think the plugs would cause an idle problem though? Don't have any misfire or anything like that.

I've been out to car and sure I can hear a hiss so guess it is an air leak. Will take it all back off tomorrow and see if there is an inlet gasket blow or something.

Spent the morning looking into this problem and through a bit of trial and error, found out what was going on so reference ............

When I put it all back together yesterday, I had 2 bolts that secured the black thing (have no idea what it's called!) in the chamber that wouldn't screw tight. That was the problem, unmetered air was being drawn in through there as the gasket wasn't sealed. I put bead of liquid gasket round the whole unit, let it dry and started. No hissing and a stable idle!

Moral of the story, don't over tighten your bolts!
