    Default lowering engine 1.9cdti vectra

hello, anybody got a diy method for changing dmf on a 1.9 cdti vectra? have got the parts and a haynes manual, but would appreciate a step by step guide from somebody that has done one.can the engine be lowered without a shop bought crossbeam? what dead weight is the engine?i am thinking of rigging something up using timbers and wire rope. cheers

I can tell you haven't looked in the most obvious place - the "How To" section.

    Vehicle : Vauxhall Vectra Hatch

Trim : SRI with added X-Pack

    Engine : 1.9 16v 150

    Year : 2006

    Mileage : Near 100K

Why you would want to lower the engine to change the dmf, I don't know.

When I changed mine I disconnected steering rack from subframe and supported, removed subframe, exhaust, driveshafts etc, supported the engine on a jack with a block of wood, removed g/box and changed dmf.
The engine may have been slightly lowered with being supported on a jack, but it wasn't much.
