Anyone knowledge about fixing Dewalt drills

Hi, I have two Dewalt 18volt rechargeable drills and both have developed the same problem over the past couple of months in that when adjusting the torque ring, it moves through all the torque settings but will not switch to the drill and hammer settings. Just wondered if there was a quick fix rather than having to take them to a service centre, Thanks

Unfortunately not mate. Dewalt are not made as well as they used to be, now they are owned by Black & Decker. The most common fault on the 18V's is the trigger switch going. Easy enough to change if you know what your doing but costly otherwise. If you do take them to a service centre defo get them to quote first as the parts them self wont be much but the labour charge is normally the killer. We charge £40.00 per hr and it can make a cheap job for parts not worh fixing some of the cheaper end of the market tools.
