    Default Hello Fellow Vectra C owners

    Hi All;

    This is my first post, having only had my Vectra for a week, I picked it up at an auction in Stockport.

    I have now had an opportunity to have a good & thourough check over of her, where unfortunatley there are a few issues with it, which I am really hoping some of you will be able to assist me with.

    Current problems are briefly listed as follows;

    Safeguard warning illuminated on computer screen, central locking all works, and alarm LED activates when doors locked

    Engine block light illuminated on dash indicating an emissions problem?

    Intermittent screeching when low revs in 3 & 4 gear, sounds like a slipping belt?

    Rear heated screen doesnt appear to be working, although the light illuminates on fascia when pressed.

    When the ignition is turned off there is a strange whirring noise coming from the engine, almost as if its an alarm going off without a siren.

    I am just wondering if anyone with experience of any similar problems could shed any light on this for me. I am conscious of using dealers who from experience in the past would rub their hands if I were to walk in with a faults list like this.

    Many Thanks
    Steve

    Hi and
    Safe guard could be a few things, is the siren disconnect in the boot? Horn goes off instead of siren when this is done. Check the connection on the rear window for the heater? If it is, this acts as if the rear window is broken causing the alarm to go off. Could also be faulty sensors up at the roof lights.

    Ive done the same but I've programmed it that the warning doesn't come up on the screen.
