I have successfully cleaned the MAF by simply spraying carb cleaner past it. This can be done either by spraying up the air intake or diconnecting the tubing and spraying after the filter,ie it wont strip the oil outta your k+n. You could allways just take the filter out and then spray.

Spray electrical contact cleaner through it when off the car. Dont use anything else as it leaves a film and will kill the MAF.

I've swapped my MAF with my uncles. It's defo the MAF that's causing me problems coz my cars fine now & my uncles vectra is messed up now lol. Just wanted to know if I could clean the MAF & reuse it to save myself £70. I've used the pedal method to find the codes, but i always lose count lol.

You an electrical contact cleaner. An leave it's for a good few hours to fully dry before fitting back to car.

Chances are though it's goosed an you need a new one

Dont spray through the intake with air filter in place an the air filter will just absorb most of it.

If your sure its your MAF you got nowt to loose by trying.Personaly I 've never had any problems using carb cleaner on 5 seperate cars but its your choice.FYI Albert looms in Derby(big breakers) currently has two vectras in..I've never seen one in before in four years. IF you want me to get you one tell me your car spec etc and I will. Or go yoursen. Straight down M1 to Nottm junction. Left turn to Derby. As you hit Derby the first major turn off youll reach is for Spondon, left turn.Big Island 2nd junction.
