Service Indicator

Hi all, been trying to find out how many miles i have left till next service on my 52 plate gsi. Tried pressing the trip with ignition off and didnt work so tried it with ignition on and it displays three number, two numbers on bottom line and one on top in odo display. What do these numbers mean and what are they for ?

It's something along the lines of the software version that's loaded, and/or the month & year of build.

Keys out and just hold mileage reset button down on clocks. If its getting close to your service, it will be displayed in mileage read out when you put the ignition on and when you turn the ignition off.

Thanks for the advice. I have tried pressing odo/trip with keys out and all i get is trip reset to zero and mileage displayed. It resets the inspection light when i press the odo and turn ignition on though. One thing i have noticed though is that when i unlock the doors with keyfob the odo lights up, is this normal !

The trip shouldn't be able to be reset with the keys out ... sounds like a possible fault?? Daft question maybe but have you tried locking doors (out of interest does double locking work - two presses of lock button?) and then unlocking and then immediately press and holding the trip reset button?

If you have done this then you will be unable to find out how many miles you have left until your next service using this method as it will have been reset

Cheers Dave. Car locks with deadlocking and all appears normal and working. Will try what you said and see what happens
