I may be mistaken but I don't think you need a winding tool as such for the fronts. You just need anything that could drive the pistons into the calipers squarely. I have a tool for this from RS components. It is simply two steel plates with steel bar in between, one plain and one threaded. Two bars are used so that the affair stays true and square. You place it between the brake shoes and wind the threaded bar. The tool forces the pistons apart. I believe that people can and do use G-clamps to achieve the same ends.

the winding tools are for the rears.. unfortunately a few of the winding tools listed for vectras are in fact for the veccy B and not the C..

Yup no wind in tool needed for the fronts, you only need the wind in tool for the rears.

You can still use the wind back tools on the front though guys. You just need to use one of the larger plates.

Works a treat. I used those clamps that are similar in design to the mastic guns.

I just use a big flat blade screwdriver levering of the old pads far quicker an easier than clamps.
