Default climate control fan speed glitch

    Hi all,

I am new to the forum. just bought a 2004 vectra 3.0 v6 cdti about 2 months ago.

I am having a problem with my fan speed. I have the climate control unit with temperature knobs left and right and a large fan knob in the middle.

When I put climate control on auto all is well but when I try to turn the fan down to zero (to turn the unit off) it glitches and basically goes to what seems to be a random fan speed. It takes some time to 'hit' zero by luck.

    - has anyone else had this issue ( i searched forum but couldn't find anything)
    - is it related to the fan control resistor thing under the glove box?
    - should i get a 2nd hand climate control box off ebay and fit it into the dashboard

Thanks in advance for any suggections
    Mitch

sounds like the control panel thats gone.

need to get a replacement (need to get one that looks like your own) afterwards you will need Tech2 to get it calibrated.. (the calibration bit needs doing on mine)

it takes 2 minuts to change, and 2 minutes to code....

its just not easy to find the right part, and a dealer that knows how to recalibrate it.
