confused Z19dth stuttering stationair when cold

    Hi,

I have a question, my car is stuttering stationair (800- 2000 rpm = unloaded) when it is semi cold (when the motor temp = 30-40c?).
When the motor is hot the motor runs perfectly.
Yesterday i checked my injectors + renew 2 of them but still the same problem.

Did somebody have an idea what this can be?

    Thank you.

    Robke

Hope you get an answer cus I have the same problem.

I was thinking maybe the glow plugs aren't pre-heating the cylinders up enough so the fuel isn't burning right? Then it levels out when the cylinders are up to temp

its the compression that triggers the burn the plugs only warm for the start up

The problem is only there when the motor temp is <80 C.
I think the motor is quit glowing their plugs at 70+ c?

Yeah as John said car would run fine without plugs once it has started. In fact unless its really cold it doesn't really need them to start. I would check all your intake and exhaust manifold pipes as well as the seal around your injectors as a first port of call. All theses bits could get warm and seal up air leaks that will either be masked or eliminated once the engine parts heat and expand.

Its also possible you have loss of compression on a cylinder (piston rings that expand and seal better) or that one of the injectors is under delivering, faulty or the connector is loose and the heat is just helping the item function better. I have heard there is a problem with the loom on older cars on Injector 3 - do you have the improved wiring loom? - something to look in to maybe?

Please let us know if you sort it and what it was.
