Yes but you will get a max of 8-10bhp. it will however smooth out the torque curve and give you better throttle response.

I know that PaulvectraC has remapped his. Im sure hell be along soon to give his experience.

You can remap a car yourself but need some tools. Have a look at Yysnet's posts.

The 2.2 responds nicely to a remap in driveability, but you will get very minimal power gains from it (circa 8-9bhp) so if you're after power a remap isn't for you (in fact the 2.2 probably isn't for you if you're after power, unless you're happy to start spending a lot of money on supercharging).

However as said, if you just want better all round driveability and response then a remap will give you that.

Edit: looking at your profile you have a very early model which will be the Z22SE engine, so a balance shaft deletion would be beneficial if you want more power, typically that will give you around 10bhp although it does make the engine vibrate a little more. Check out www.z22se.co.uk for more information on your engine and tuning for it.

all depends on what ecu you have as to who can remap them so i have been informed, if it's the motorola one you have more chance finding rocking horse shyte than geting it done...

you need to speak to nick2.2 mate, he has tried everyone thorney, courtney etc and after saying ''yes we can map the 2.2'' they couldnt do it due to his motorola ecu...he was very very piffed of as you can imagine
