Default intercooler hose leaking oil 1.9 cdti 150

    Hi all

For months now I have noticed oil around the turbo that seems to be coming from the intercooler hose. When the engine is hot and stationary you get a oil vapour smell in the cabin when the fans are on. I reckon if I replace the intercooler hose and jubilee clips this will sort out the oil leak and hopefully the dodgy smell.

Has anyone done this before and how hard is it to get to the hose. Can you get access to the area if I remove the front bumber? Or if I remove the heat shield?

    Any help would be appreiated

Yes you can buy the intercooler hose made from silicone, just ebay silicone intercooler hose, also plenty of pics on this forum, if you search intercooler hose.

It's common for oil passing down the boosts pipes due to the closed crank case vent system, this mixes with the soot from the egr in the inlet & kills the swirl system, this is why some people add a catch tank or blank the egr, if it's weeping past from the pipework near the jubilee, try nipping it up & take it from there.
