Default Post-facelift Cruise Control stalk removal

    I've searched, I promise.

Is there an easy way to remove the CC stalk? There's no groove on the back for the paper clip removal trick.....

Will the steering column shrouds/airbag etc have to come out?

Car is a 150 CDTI, 07 facelift model.

I want to get the stalk off to clean the contacts.

    Thanks all in advance

You need to pull the rubber boot out of the steering wheel covers to locate the groove.
It is on the part of the stalk that cannot be seen easily.
You can see the groove in the right hand side picture, just under the part No, in this ebay auction.

Got it done. The key was removing the rubber boot from the column.

The part was exactly as described in the How To, but I had lost confidence I think and assumed the design was different!

    Thanks all again

Job done, contacts cleaned and stalk replaced.
It's better but still not perfect.
I think a new CC stalk could benin my future.
    Thanks all for the advice.
