Default Calling all vvt twin exhaust owners

Twin exhaust is next on my list of things to do but I'm concerned
I don't want loud noise, just a nice tone at idle and cruising etc that can develop to a mid-high volume when the hammers down
But forgive my lack of knowledge, I'm concerned I will lose power, low down especially, I know exhausts are tricky things on small n/a engines and you can cripple an engine if done incorrectly
Would there be two back boxes also or I have seen a system with one central box before the Y piece, would it be more like this
I want to have a decent level of knowledge if possible and know what I'm after before I go to the exhaust guy
I had a bad experience in losing power on my 2.0 306,
And whereas I'm not necessarily after more power (although it would be nice ;-) ) I certainly don't want to lose any

    Cheers guys

So u got no loss then from changing bore size?
    And how's the sound?
I'm thinking of a custom twin
    Axel back 2 boxes £280
Or cat back 2 boxes £380
But like I mentioned, iv seen a guy, not sure if it's on here with a twin conversion but only the one box before the Y piece
I dunno what benefits this might have tho?

    Trim : sri

    Engine : 1.8 vvt (XE18XER)

    Year : 2008

have twin custom made power flow, bigger bore than standard exhaust, its cat back ,triple boxes, nice purr at tick over and a lovely howl at 4500 rpm in 3rd gear, just love it, some times wonder what it would sound like without middle box.

Think il most likely go for the axle back for now with 2 boxes and dependant on the noise I can have it adjusted up or down when I get the centre done
Hard to know what to do tho, need to save cash so not getting all done at once but always costs more that way in the long run lol

After a bit of searching around it seems to be the general opinion that in terms of power, a twin exhaust is a bad idea on a 4 cylinder as there is a major loss in exhaust gas velocity, a similar effect to putting a 3inch bore in place of a 1.5,
This seems to make sense but if i requested the bore after the Y piece be reduced to compensate for this, would there be any negatives to this?
I'm sure the clever people on here will make sense of it for me
I dnt want to come across as if I'm after loads of power because it's the look and sound I'm interested in mainly
I just dnt want a loss

Again please forgive all the questions lol but I'm not interested in paying £400 for less power lol
