Custom Exhaust fittied tomorrow :)

Well after months of waiting for a used irmscher estate backbox to appear I have gave up and the car is getting a custom one built and fitted tomorrow morning I couldn't live with the gap left by the lower irmscher rear bumper spoiler for much longer lol, it will be occupied by a shiney new tailpipe.
I've gone for a flexi back system with no boxes, just pipe and a tailpipe. I think this is known as a "mufflerectomy" from what I have heard.

Same here mate, I might try to do a before and after video if I have time in the morning. I don't want it to be too loud bit a little subtle difference would be nice. I know it's a diesel tho so it's never going to sound that great lol.

I disagree! Had a custom exhaust put on my cdti 150 a few weeks ago, from flexi back, no middle box or cat and just a small back box with a tailpipe the same shape and size as originally fitted.

Barely any difference in sound when driving normally, accelerate hard and there's a bit more growl, the fun is when you accelerate and lift off at around 2000 rpm, get a lovely 'woooo' sound as the wastegate dumps down the exhaust

Well its in now, it took them a while to get it on the ramps without scraping the splitter tho lol. Sat in a coffee shop having a brew now.

Here we go. Got the tracking done at the same time, no more droning from the rear wheels anymore. The rear left was way out!

Happy with the tailpipe, it looks a bit squint in the pic but its not, it is offset slightly so it follows the curve of the bumper.

Sounds great when you change gear, a big whooshing sound lol.
