    confused Another Cruise control question!

I had problems with my cruise control, i think the only thing i haven't done is change the clutch spring however had to take the battery out, after that i had problems with my alarm not working properly.

When i plugged it into my computer it came up with "curcuit open" for both the cruise control and the alarm which it never had before.

Ive checked fuses etc and all appear to be ok (not that i can find one for CC)

Any idea's or will i be taking it down to Vauxhall to get screwed over?

Open circuit means that there is a contact missing each other , i would bet it the connection where the end of the stalk connects inside the CIM,

Mine was the same , i removed the stalk and carefully raised the flat connectors slightly with a paper clip o and also wrapped some celotape round the bottom of my stalk

I had a lot of intermittent problems with the cruise control stalk contacts, would drop out of cruise whenever I lane changed or went over a bump.

I cleaned everything really well, even disassembled the CIM & cleaned some black stuff on the sliding switch conatcts.
This made it work for a few weeks, then gradually started seeing the intermittent problems again.

Tried using wd40 & also electrical switch cleaner, was only a temporary fix.
I used Lithium grease on the stalk contacts & it's worked great since, no problems for over 6 months now.
