Red face Difference between 120 ps and 150ps?

    Please don't say 30 ps!

Are they the same motor? I have the 120 PS version, any tuning that can be done to the engine?

Having previously had a 2001 mondeo TDDi the vectra feels a bit flaccid in comparison, however the mondeo had a claimed 115 ps but experts reckon that it was actually nearer 125.

    Any thoughts?

The 120 can see over 160 with a good map I believe plus the torque increase works out better as its a 8v.

120 is an 8v and 150 is a 16v motor too, so wont be so free revving as the 16v 150.

The 8v has good middle torque range, the 16v works good at the higher end off the revs ( the harder you rev the better it is ) i think.

Its no problem to tune the 120. Its not so quick reving as the 150, but the right tuning makes it feel stronger then a tuned 150. My 120 8v have I decat and remapped and I measuered in the dyno (not rr, but a dyno connected direkt to the axle out of the gearbox) and it said 170 ps and 400 nm between 2100 and 2800 rpm. Engine revs not like a petrol, but the car pulls our 1800 kg caravan like a grizlybear

I read/write the ECU self, but the map is done by www.medusa-motorsports.com (Vinnoc Potter in Belgium). Fuel economy is a litle better then standard. Now I have done some new mods, litle more boost and i bit more diesel, so estimatet hp/torque is 180/420.

To make it pull so hard you also need decat/dpf.
