2008 Vectra rear knocking

Hi everyone,
1st time here.
I have a 1.9cdti vectra and it has a really annoying noise from what I think is the N/S rear.
It's been checked over by two garages & myself, I fitted a pair of new shockers as well to the rear.
It's like a hollow knocking noise, not necessarily just when going over bumps but also just on slightly uneven roads.
I cant see any play in any bushes and everything "looks" Ok .

Please has anyone any ideas ?.

I had the same thing,sounded like it was the Parcel shelf or something in the boot,i had already had the Shockers changed,they were well worn.I no you said its been looked over for bushes,but mine turned out to be the Rear Anti-Roll Bar Bushes,which had worn in the center were the Anto-Roll bar goes through,they hadnt cracked or split or nothing,fine after changeing them. About £9 from the stealers.

Same here. Was rear bushes on my estate.
Cheap and easy fix to rule it out
