Signum 2.0T EML light sometimes on

Hi Everyone,

I have done 93K on my Signum without an engine problem but now I have the spanner EML light on. Sometimes it goes out but most of the time it is on now. Once the EML light has come on, the A/C will not work either.

I had the codes read and there is P0495-00 which is cooling fan 3. I have confirmed the rad fans run on the slow and medium speeds but not the fast speed which I assume is 'fan 3'. Has anyone ever had this before?

I think there must be relays controlling the fans and there are several under the bonnet in the fusebox but does anyone have any info as to what each of them does?

Would be grateful for any ideas.

At a bit of a guess, it could be a faulty coolant temperature sensor.

The faulty a/c is probably a rotten condenser, visable through the bumper.... if it looks wet, it's the a/c oil leaking....

The engine fan is controlled through the engine bay BSI unit, and relays. You need it on a fault code reader that can do 'actuator tests', basically work the fan / circuit (or not if faulty)on full speed with the engine off (Without cooking the engine) and test the circuit to trace the fault.
