Default VECTRA SRI CDTI 150 Back box

    Hi Guys,

one of the brackets has rusted away on my back box and dropped off.

its a vectra SRI CDTI 150 6 speed.

called vaux and they want £374 just for the back box.

called motor factor and they said £72 for a pattern part.

Makes sense to go for pattern part. Any views on this / issues getting a non genuine back box?

    cheers guys

Does it have the stainless steel SRi trim? if so, BARGAIN!!

Personally, I tend to go to a local garage and get a mils steel strap moulded to and welded around the back box to tie into the hanger again.

Yes it has the SRI chrome tip.

Seen that one on Ebay but dont think its for a diesel as mine lookd just oval shaped.

So do you guys think pattern part will be ok? So wont affect performance or anything like that?

It is OK to fit the back box from another engine, many on here do it with the twin outlet system from the 2.0t and 2.2 onto diesels

Just looked at my back box and the bracket is pretty rusted - can I hammerite it (just the bracket) ? Will this prolong the life of bracket? I assume being the back box heat will not be a major issue. Any tips welcome.
