Fifth Gear moves to Discovery

The Discovery Channel have poached Fifth Gear from Channel 5

New series starts next Mon, 3rd Sep at 8pm

It's also back to a 60 min show (with adverts no doubt)

Sky 520 (521 + 1 hour) (536 HD)

Virgin 212 (213 + 1 hour) (214 HD) - I think.

The way things are going the only left on terestial tv will be endless re runs of coronation st ,dead benders neighbours, and all the other garbage they create.

discovery hd is 520 for those with hd btw.

cant wait tbh, it was fifth gear day all day on Monday, i forgot how good it was.

On my box it's 536. 520 is for the standard channel.

it used to be 536 but if you have hd then the hd version is the main channel if that makes any sense so 520 is now hd version on mine i am sure it is.

likewise, sky one hd is now 106 whereas it used to be 170 or something

It was ok, but not great. A really long segment of Jonny Smith learning to drive a truck that races in the Paris-Dakar, which they split into 3 or 4 bits so as to make it look less boring. Also a pointless segment of Suzi WhatsHerFace from Channel 5's Gadget Show driving a Clio round a track again and again, each time with different performance mods on the car to show which one makes her go faster - pointless because each lap was quicker than the last, not because the mods were more effective than the previous ones but because she was getting more experience of the track. Oh, and a group test drive of the new Beetle at Millbrook that turned into a contest on who could make it jump the furthest over a high speed bump, which pretty much looked like "Some idiot gave us a car to drive for free so we're going to break it just because it's not ours".
