Default Rear shock only lasted 6 months

End of March, 6000 miles ago, I fitted a pair of Meyle shocks to the rear.

The past month or so I have had a weird noise, rather like fuel sloshing in an unbaffled tank, coupled with a squeaking sort of noise - especially obvious at slow speed and coming from the back.

Having chased wheel bearings, and various other bits, as I jacked the nearside up the noise was heard coming from the shock itself.

    Not happy

Assumable they should still be under warranty then ,best have a word with the supplier to get them replaced as they should be replaced as a pair .
I put bilsten B4,s on mine when the stealers told me of an advisery on my rear dampers that was over 30,000 miles ago and there still good

Yeah - I've e-mailed them via e-bay as that's where they came from, so not overly optimistic on the outcome. TBH half the reason is I'm commenting is I'm annoyed at the failure, and the other half to alert the rest of you to what's happened with a Meyle shock.

With all due respect mate, who are Meyle? I've never heard of them before

Regardless 6 months/6k miles is completely unacceptable (unless the town you live in has all cobbled roads and is riddled with potholes

Well, the supplier has offfered a replacement

Meyle have said if there is a problem, let them know and they'll take it up with the supplier on my behalf.

Good customer services from both parties
