'There's a car park in every pub you go to': Arthur Kibble stands by his product

Campaigners are calling for pills which allow drivers to drink five pints of beer and still pass a breathalyser test to be banned after a businessman began selling them in the UK.
Arthur Kibble, 64, boasts the 'Alcopal' capsules allow motorists to drink until they are over the limit, yet still give a breath test which is nine times lower than it should be.
Kibble, from Birmingham, is selling the pills online and said he is not advocating drinking and driving.
The pills have already been withdrawn in America but they are legally on sale in Britain - where 280 people die on average each year as a result of drink driving.
Last week The Department of Transport revealed that the number of drink driving deaths had risen by 12 per cent - the first increase in over a decade.

The pills, which are taken before and after a drinking session, are said to prevent alcohol being absorbed through the stomach and into the bloodstream.
Kibble sells the pills online via his website and said he had tested them himself on Home Office-approved Draegar Breathalyser machines.
Today, the defiant businessman denied that he was encouraging motorists to drink and drive, and said the pills were completely safe.

It's been banned in america already, but totally legal here at the moment.
Also, don't be fooled by the stupid readers comments at the bottom - many of which are supporting this product. The stupidity of that defies belief.

Very very bad product, whether it does what it claims "slows alcohol absorption into bloodstream" or not -- it will encourage more drink driving, and more people are going to die on the roads.

Also, i will say it isn't good that this is all over the media tabloids now, effectively "advertising" the product.
Still that's done now and the law needs to deal with it asap.

There should be no drink-drive limit at all. Any drink - don't drive.

Am I correct in my understanding that this stops the absorbtion of alcohol? In which case its not giving a false reading as there is no alcohol in the blood. I too think it should be banned as you would never know if it had worked. Plus if not absorbed where does the alcohol go? Out in your urine? Please don't get me wrong with my initial comment just trying to understand the drug.

If there is something called Karma, he'll get knocked down by a driver who's used his pills and taken a chance when over the limit. What goes around comes around.

    Hang on a minute...

Are they saying that if you take the pill before and after, you dont get drunk ?

Or are they saying that you are completely drunk and the breath tests say your sober.

If these pills allow you to drink alcohol and not get drunk at all, then thats different to being ****ed and able to fool the breath test.
