Default Brake wear sensor put where?

    Hi Guys

im about to change the front breakes due to one warped disc.

as ive never change disc and pads before on my car.. im wondering where the sensor goes? as i can see any "slot" on the new pads were to put it..

(havnt started changing yet... but on it saturday)..

(ive got new zimmermann disc and pads).

And i dont fancy just cutting it off and bypassing it..

    Any pictures..

Just done all 4 discs and shoes on both wifes Signum pre facelift and front pads have notches in backplate of pad. On my Facelift Vectra there is no brakewear sensor part of cost cutting not mentioned in Elite specification.

is it not the holes in the pad back plate in your last photo? That's where they usual sit on most vauxs I have done in the past..

ahh so i just have to make the "u-shape" through the back plate, as you can see on picture 3 its not all the way.

I have bought pads for both my wifes Siggy (2003)(pre facelift) and my (2007)(facelift) Vetra both have same part number but early 2002 model Vectra's had type 1 caliper which looking at Haynes manual are different to the ones I fitted this week-end The actual sensor is in a grommet type housing that clips into the small "U" shape cut-out I will photograph the old pads I removed yesterday plus scan the pages from Haynes to show you the different calipers tomorrow morning as I need to charge Digital camera up and put it through photoshop on wifes computer thus annotating the photos for you. All front brake pads in UK have the "U" shape cut-out
