Default Rain water enters when opening boot (5 door hatch)

Seems its been raining mostly since I picked up the Vectra - when I open the boot water runs off the hatch and splashes down into the boot area - most annoying! Any fixes available for this? I've done a quick search of the site but if someone could point me in the right direction that would be cool!

Amazing would never have thought of that - I'll give it a go, thanks!

Put a strip of chrome self adhesive down each side, it helps direct the water.

open the boot slowly , lift it up a touch til the water runs off & then open , this is what I now do .

    Not on mine it doesn't.

The water sits on the flat metal panel below the base of the rear window, which in turn pours into the boot if you open it too fast. Lifting the wiper blade/arm isn't going to do diddly squat.

Give it a go, you might like it :-) I find that water your on about hits the wiper blade and is then guided into the boot, with the blade lifted it runs straight up the glass and into the gutter at the back of the roof/top of the boot glass.

Have already tried it. As previously stated - doesn't work. Water doesn't even reach the wiper blade before it's pouring into the boot from the lower edges of the window.

I'll try both methods - not sure I want the Chrome Strip look - from observation so far the waterfall effect does tend to be worse on the passenger side about 1/3 up the glass - which could be where the wiper would channel the flow to! Sounds like there is no real fix other than to get the wife to open the boot for me!
