Depends what you want to do ... A spinning bike is great if you have the motivation and others to spur you on... A standard bike would be a good place to start before you kill yourself or put yourself off before you have even started

    Why not a gym membership? I'm £18 a month for a 24-7 gym.
Seems more cost effective than a £300 spinning bike am you have the choice of more machines

Exercise bikes are pants, you'll be bored to tears after only a couple of goes. Buy yourself a second hand bike and get out in the great outdoors, or get yourself a gym membership, its much easier when there are other people to help spur you along.

+1 to getting a real bike. You'll get a decent hybrid for £200 ish and if you like it you can go the whole hog with a road bike!
