Remove bulb covers for dipped beam. there is a small metal lever inside the bulb recess, move the lever until you hear it click into place, job done. Its a bit fiddly to get at the levers btw. Its detailed in the manual.

It doesn't actually change to continental pattern, it just flattens the beam, ie it doesn't point up and to the left any more. It was acceptable for my German roadworthiness test.

Worded my question a bit wrong. I actually ment the other way, From continental to uk. I take it its the same. Do you recon a continental light that has been switched will pass an mot over here?

I'm not sure mate. I don't know if the MOT requires that your beam rises to the left or just stipulates that it must not rise to the right.

If its the latter you might get away with it. Just remember that both headlamps must be the same as they measure the pattern from individual lamps and not the overall light spread.

No Matt, pre-facelift only. Facelifts have to make do with stickers or new headlamps altogether.

Cheers Ross, I am glad I am not going nuts!!! A freind of mine has a facelift 2.0T and goes to Europe for 4 weeks each year, he has bought a set of LHD headlights and swaps them over each year!!!

    I'll just have the stickers!!!
