Default What is this meant for please?

Does anyone know what this is meant for please? Found it lying beside the glow plugs holes while trying to clean the EGR and I can see there are four holes where it could go into but want to know what it is meant for before inserting it. It is a 150bhp 1.9CDTi engine.Thanks.

It is the control rod for your swirl flaps bud common fault should clip back on

Damn me. Should this just click into the hole or what? Been on this for over 30mins. The control rod is not fitting into any of the holes. Is there any trick to this please?

The holes in the rod will be worn so it wont 'click' back on.

Search for swirl flaps on this site and all the info you will ever need will be found.

Put it up your loft mate as a reminder of your Vectra in years to come. You can glue swirl valves 1, 2 and 4 open as per loads of advice elsewhere on this forum.
