If you have 5w30 oil in the vehicle and you wish to top up the oil as its slightly low is ok to use another grade or is it best stay with the same stuff. I'm not sure if its part synthetic or full synthetic that was used when I had it serviced, would this matter to?

Chances are, if they used 5w/30 then it'll be the fully synth long life stuff.

IMHO, best to stick to the same grade / spec of oil for topping up.

If you were top up using semi synth or 10w/40 then you'd most probably lose the long life properties of the existing oil.

Cheers. It didn't say on the recepit what oil they used just said 5w/30 might call them and ask if they used part or fully synthetic.
