Default My CDTi SRi XP Nav Progress thread...

Thought I may aswell start one of these now I am back in the world of Vectra C's - and loving it again I might add.

So, on the 14th August I picked up my current Vectra SRi CDTi 150 XP Nav, it had a new inlet manifold fitted (as the bar had fallen off when I viewed the car) and all the usual MOT/Service/Tax done also so was pretty much ready to go.

They had done their usual cleaning job on it - i.e. with a scourer and a bucket of dirty water - so that needed sorting, along with the obligatory EGR blank.

So, after my 2nd EGR blank arrived (dropped the first down the back of the engine bay never to be seen again ) I promptly fitted this to keep my nice shiny new inlet manifold as clean as possible and yesterday I booked the day off work and set out giving the car a detail.

They also fitted a Nankang tyre to the rear (assume after a puncture) and its quite noisy, so will get that replaced with something quieter, as the noise at 35mph is a bit annoying

Spent all day doing it, the usual process of foam/wash, clay, wash again, dry - then onto machine polishing, I used a combination of Megs #83 and #105 with Megs Soft Buff pads and Hexlogic pads (love those), then gave it a coat of PB Black Hole - the problem I had was it was quite late after this and needed to use the car, so I only managed to give it a couple of coats of AG EGP for initial protection (as its quick and easy and does the job well). Unfortunately as it was late, I didn't take any pics but I have one from this morning following the night time rain - a bit of beading porn....

This is the car at the moment, sorry for crappy phone pic, will try and get some over the bank holiday weekend in some nice places

I plan to have some more updates soon, namely colour coded grill and MAS remap

Haha, you know me so well - course there will be more than 2, but those will be a good start.

As soon as the MG is sold (not advertised yet) then a trip to MAS Performance will be booked

I should have updated this thread instead of starting a new one (with the remap results) - so here we are, the power graphs following a visit to Ben at MAS Performance.

This is before, perfectly standard, just been serviced with a new inlet manifold and a blanked EGR.... 153.0bhp 330NM torque

    RR_before.jpg

This is after been had worked his magic.... 189.1bhp with 400NM torque

    RR_after.jpg

    Attachment 62413

Feels much better now, drives brilliantly when you want to take it easy, but has masses of power when you need it

Must admit, it wasn't what I was expecting when I got there, but he knows his stuff and its now a transformed car.

Have you seen my thread on my trip to MAS?...

Yes other than due to my desire to fit a VXR rear diffuser (XP2 with standard SRI grille diffuser looks awful) I needed to fit dual exit pipes, other than that just the remap. Then turns out you can get a single exist VXR diffuser - most annoyed!!!
