I would definitely get a genuine Vauxhall water pump - and which ever T/B kit you get make sure it has the bolts included - I've just bought a Contitech kit for a 1.7 DTi Corsa - opened the box and found there was only one bolt even though there is a guide pulley and the tensioner pulley - had to order a tensioner bolt from local dealers and been waiting nearly a fortnight now for it to arrive - and the bolts do need replacing. Also the Contitech (Continental) kits use the same pulleys as Vauxhall as we compared them at the dealers and they had exactly the same markings on the pulleys!

VX genuine kit and pump only. Ive fitted many of these and will only fit genuine - not worth the risk of nasty cheap pumps etc..

Sound advice - but not sure about the belt and pulleys - I spoke to a technician at Continental (who make the Contitech belts and kits) the other day and he told me that they supply the GM/Opel factory with their belts and pulleys that go on new cars - I think if you stick with good brands Dayco, Gates, etc they should be ok. I have just bought a genuine kit to do a 1.7 Dti Corsa all sealed bags with the GM sticker and parts numbers on and the belt is branded Isuzu - who make this engine anyway. Pumps yes definitely keep with GM ones - unless we can find out who makes them.

Just as a warning mate,I have known many non genuine water pumps leak. Genuine ones have a fitted metal gasket, and a lot of aftermarket ones are not as good.

Just would hate for you to do it and then have to strip down again as you have a leak...
