Cooled Glove Box mod

Hi peeps,

I've been thinking of doing this mod for some time. However it seems that the price of the parts has gone up considerably since the original HOW2 was posted. The air duct (part 13140158) is now £17 + VAT!! lol). Anyways, my question was about how this function actually works. Some people on here suggest it only works when Air con is on. Others suggest that whatever you have your heater fan set to will go into the glove box (warm or cold air) using the heat adjustement knob on console. Was wondering if anyone who has this can comment? Much appreciated guys

Would have thought it ran off the ducts for the air / dash vents so would put air into the glovebox the same temp as the air coming out of the vents is.

.... so if it's just 'bleed air' it should really be titled 'Glovebox Heater/Cooler' as in the depths of winter when you have the heater on nice and cosy, your Jellybabies will be melting nicely in their own little oven ?

Was out there and tried and had heating on hi and glovebox is still cold

The takeoff pipe is before the heater matrix, but after the aircon evaporator matrix. So it'll blow outside air temperature air or aircon cooled air, but never heated air.

So if it's 30°C outside and you have the blower fans on full, heat control on fully cold but aircon off, it'll still melt your secret stash of Dairy Milk bars...
