    Unhappy just about had enough of my vectra c 1.9 150 bhp

    I have just about had enough of my 56 plate 1.9 cdti 150 bhp design vectra c,this year i have spent £550. on four new tyers £850.on new clutch and dmf £300. on new front springs £250. on a new alternater. £140. on a new air con condensor and regas, £45. on glow plugs £ 30. on glow plug relay and now i have a spanner and car light come on and im told its the exhaust particluate filter and pobably the cat blocked which would cost around a £1000. to fix

    Don't replace it just so the same thing can happen again at a grand a time mate! Get it removed and mapped out like most people do, £300ish will do it for good! It's not needed for.the mot and are jist a pain in the butt

    Tyres are wear and tear items, you'd have to change them on any car.

    Springs the same, unbelievably common for springs to break on any car nowadays.

    Clutch and DMF very common on all modern diesels, regardless of manufacturer.

    Is your car an auto or an estate? If neither you don't have a DPF, if you do then the car needs do be driven harder and for longer runs to prevent it from blocking, again common on all modern diesels.

    its a hatch back and its the 1,9 design and its got a big long box after the cat and aparently its a dpf.......

    Loads of places mate, dpf removal is big business. I got mine done at mas performance and loads of guys on here swear by the place. Plenty companies all over the UK do it tho. Jist google dpf removal

    Just a thought.... with all this work done you're in the position of knowing actual condition, age, etc of many parts of your vehicle... unlike most of us who just have to guess unless we've had the vehicle from new. It would be a shame to effectively throw that away and switch to a vehicle where you're back to hoping things aren't heavily worn.

    You seemed to of replaced most things that go wrong. If you bought something else you might be in the same boat spending again i would fix problem and pray nothing else goes wrong
