    Default broken spring

    hi all just got car back from full service and mechanic has told me front n/s spring has broken. showed me top of it broken off in his hand. also leaking shock on same side. undecided what to do whether to go for standard replacements or upgrade. ideas welcome?

    If you lower the car, you will have to fit a full set front and back.

    I would always recommend you fit both front ones and not just one new spring and shocker.

    ive got a full set of lowering springs. so will i need just 2 standard front shocks

    Depending on how low your new springs are the shockers may bottom out? You may need some which are shorter.

    springs are fk automotive with a 30mm drop bought from member off here

    the 30mm will be from a standard vectra you will be ok i have 30mm on mine with standard shocks no issues

    Go for bilstien B4,s equivelant to a standard vx shock only difference being they will last a whole lot longer
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years
    and still loving it

    Find the cheap spring thread and have a read, as people had various experiences with the fk springs on various shocks.

    I had the same dilema! I heard that a pair of standard springs from VX were £160 quid so I went for a full set of PI springs - £110! -30mm springs on standard shocks and I'm pretty happy with how it feels on these.
