    Thumbs up 1.9cdti

Hello everyone hope you all had a good christmas. The time has come now where i have to get rid of my vectra. Guna miss it as its been a great car apart from the C-Pillar screw up.It has been many places with me and its defo not a car to forget. Ill be sad to see it go. The good news though is i have just put a deposit down on a SRI 150CDTI 56plate with the exterior pack with those sexy 19" wheels. Cant wait to get it.
Anyway i know its a new car but does anyone know of any problems i need to check up on before i collect the car. Any recals ect?? If anyone knows it would be great if you could let me know

    Thanks peeps

Ah yes, you suffer from the shiny black weakness... I suffer from this also...

Went to buy a Silver Lightening originally... but ended up with another black one !!

Just a couple of issues I have with mine which I know are repeated on several others:-

1.Front bumper paint very dull compared to rest of the car. (More prominent on lighter colours)
2.Poor bumper alignment around headlamps and where it meets the wing, also bonnet gaps differ at each side where it meets the grill posts.
3.Headlights starting to mist up when it's raining.

As a general rule it's all the parts that were changed in the facelift. Very poor build quality compared to the pre-facelift in my opinion.

Good luck with it, I love mine apart from the above and hopefully they will be sorted.

The swirl valve on cdti's seems to be a problem, plenty have had them done. .

yeah had a silver Astra and i used to polish that like mad but didnt seem to get a great shine. The silver vectra with the tinted lights does look very nice though.Im sure that i can get the black upto my high standards. My problem is i cant wash a car without waxing or polishing it after. Sad i know but its like a addiction.
Thanks leeds vectra ill have a look when i go to pick it up. i did notice that one headlight had started to mist up but i have yet to have a car that hasnt done that.If its bad maybe they might change them for me

    Spot on paul mate.

The 1.9 is superb & a cracking drive IMO but alot of these swirl valves have been replaced (including mine!)

The warranty covers it but it's a pain in the butt all the same.

I did 62000 miles in my old one and had the swirl valve problem.

My new one which is a facelift has now done 23000 miles, which apart from the flywheel being replaced at 9500 miles, all is well.
