    Default Service & MOT - Vec C '06 Z30DT

I'm shopping around for service and MOT costs for my Vec. It's an '06 facelift SRi with Z30DT engine.

It has a K&N air filter so just needs oil, oil filter, fuel filter and pollen filter plus check over. MPG quoted £235 for the service, then £55 for the MOT. I explained I am a member of VVOC and Vectra C.com.

I know they need more oil than a typical car but £235 for a service, that seems excessive.

Arnold Clark Vauxhall quoted £119 for service and MOT, although the service was just oil & filter change and check over.

I'm in Cheshire, North West if anyone knows of anywhere else I can try. I need two new tyres 225/45/18 for the MOT so an expensive time for me.

Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

Problem with the v6 cdti an genuine parts is the oil filter is £33 trade price plus 7.5 litres of oil it's rather expensive

Oem filters can be had for about 13 quid from a motor factor.

If your looking to save some cash you could get all bits yourself an ask a local garage to do the work.

If your not to fussed about dealer or garage stamps in book I could do it for you

My local VX dealership (Arnold Clark) has quoted £150 for a full service, and £180 when using the correct GM-LL specification oil
This is the MasterFit service, not the OE service
You need to specify the filters, otherwise you get just the oil filter

I do not use dealerships for MoT purposes
Pickup a copy of the Sun and you can have a MoT at National Tyres for under £30

Two tyres are not expensive for MoT, there are many other failure points that can be more expensive

I suggest you have the car serviced and then about a week later the MoT

Odd, that's about the same price on a retail receipt
1.5 hours labour for the service
