Default Painted Pass Door Controls / Grab Handle, Sry very pic heavy

After seeing a post tonight about carbon wrapping door handles I decided to take out my sanded (from some time ago) passengers door controls (lol not many as its a cost cutting facelift) and grab handle.

They looked terrible after a sanding session so I thought it cant hurt. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

No fitting pics as of yet as I'm going to leave the gloss to hardern for a few day's first.

Will give them a rub down and then fit them.

Let me know what you think.

    Cheers Chris

Oh Part one, Next pics coming in the next post.

    All Halfrauds stuff lads.

Now sitting in my kitchen and the gloss is laying really nice and flat.

Will wait a couple of day's then flatten them down with only a micro fibre cloth and a bit of AG polish.

Thats all is needed to be honest as the gloss will still be soft enough to flatten.

All most finished mate. Leaving for a couple of days before I do the final flatten of the gloss.

Will put a "how to" together with the pics and destructions very soon. Just want to see how the final product comes out.

    What I did so far.

Sanded the items until the top plastics come off.

Once smooth I then painted with pound land primer.

Then sanded with 2000 grit wet and dry.

Dried then laid on some fine coats of Top paint.

Laid some more coats on after at least 5 mins.

Hairdryer'd between each coat for ten mins.

Once happy with the colour I waited for 20 mins then laid a heavy coat of gloss on.

Waited for 10 mins then attacked with the hairdryer again moving over the parts evenly so not too much heat build up.

The great thing about gloss is its flattens well with the hairdryer then the more you leave it gets even flatter.

After a few days it will be almost flat and will only take a bit of buffing with a micro fibre cloth to get almost smooth.

Then leave for two more days and then attack it with AG polish SRP and then AG Ultra Deep Shine to give it some colour back.

Will post the final pics once I have done all this.

    Cheers

    Chris
