    Default Anyone towed caravan with 120 cdti

    Bit of advice and experience please?Looking to tow with my cdti 1.9 120
    The caravan is no more than 1300kg,
    Will it be man enough. I also don't want to get a remap.

    I've not towed with mine, but I think it should be more than up to the job, although I'd check the handbook for braked/unbraked weight limits for towing.

    I wouldnt envisage any problems, seems grunty enough, considering what my F&F have towed with before, as long as (as mentioned above) you keep within the limits.

    Nice to see more and more 120 drivers

    ive towed with mine and it pulled fantastic no problems at all mine was 1325kg fully loaded and all the family in the car! best tow car ive had mind you it does tend to blunt the performance slighty lol but as long as you take your time there should be no problem

    Strangely the brake max is 1500 which I think is more than the kerb weight.
    Im not botherd about speed just don't want to damage the car. The for your replies I'm going for it.

    i have towed a few thousand miles with my 2.0ltr dti with properley slightly less power than your 120 with no problems.Make sure you get your nose weight right and make sure rear springs are in good condition/Lots of help on caravan talk forums.

    Thats a v good question mine is the same and looking for a caravan at the end of the season when prices should fall some.

    Many light weight caravans and plenty around 1350kg for a 4 berth.

    i had a vectra 150 cdti and towed a swift 1400kg fine but any wind or breeze from lorrys etc the caravan sways and this makes the vectra sway as well traded mine in for new vauxhall antara 4x4 as sometimes didnt feel safe and got 2 young kids but miss the veccy like mad lol

    I towed a 1200kg caravan yesterday 240miles from Macclesfield to New Forest. Towed with no problems and averaged 33.4mpg.

    Used cruise control for about 200 miles and kept at 58mph sat nav speed.

    Ur 120 bhp is similar power to mine & should be no problems what so ever.
