Default Replacing new front shocks. What else?

I am going to have the front shocks replaced soon with Bilstein B4s to match the ones I have just had put on the back.

The front suspension has never been touched and the car has now done 133k. So what else is worth doing at the same time?

I won't be doing them myself as I am not too handy with the spanners so don't want to add too much time to the labour!

The car doesn't drive that well. At high speeds the front and rear doesn't seem connnected. The rear has hand new dampers and upper control arms fitted so I think my problem is probably the front.

Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

    Default

Get me Strut top mounts an bearings.
    Drop links

Wont add any extra labour as they needs to come off to change shocks anyway

Also consider having the anti roll bar bushes changed.

And I'm sure they will if it's going to garage but get them to check wishbone bushes for play

Are the top strut mounts and bearings two separate parts or can you get a kit? How much are they?

Just had a look at the drop links and the uprdated saab ones are about the same price so might go for those.

Are the drop links the same as Anti Roll Bar Link Arms?

yes the strut mount and bearing are 2 different parts
the bearing is what the spring rotates on at the top of the suspension
the top mount is a plate that has the bolt hole locations so that the whole strut can be bolted to the inner wing

and yes drop links are the same as anti roll bar link arms

Is it worth getting the VX top mounts and bearings or are aftermarket ones OK?

I have had a quick look on ebay etc and nothing comes up for the SRI top mounts (13188764) they all seem to be the non-sri ones.
They also seems to be quite pricey? It's looking like they'll be £120 for a full set?

Thanks for the drop link info

Can get a set of OEM (but they are actuall genuine ones with paint over part number) from Uni part for 57 quid a side.
Quite expensive. But with that mileage you'll be surprised how much itll improve the feel.
