    Default Insignia, getting tempted..

Seriously looking at insignias now to replace the old 2.0 turbo. I am looking at the 160 cdti, what are you guys getting from a tank of fuel (miles) mixed driving and are there many common faults on this engine? I am looking at one with sat nab and Bluetooth, but what other options are standard on 61 plate Sri's?

    Cheers

Mines coming up to 3k miles now, and has never got less than 700 miles from a tank so far. Best was 757, but take into account it's a 70 litre fuel tank and mines an estate. It's a sublime drive though with the flex ride option in Tour mode on the motorway - I've done 400 mile journeys and gotten out the other end feeling like I've done 10 miles...

As for the options, see if you can download a brochure for it mate - theres a link somewhere on the site for them. I'd try and find an elite though personally - if it's got the flex ride option then it comes with sports mode which will give you the suspension setting of the Sri, plus a load of other toys...

Thanks for the input Penfold, 700 miles per tank is pretty good TBH I will keep an eye on them and maybe arrange a test drive in a few different models..

I would also point out that if you were thinking of buying a used one on finance, they still have the 0% finance wil no deposit offer going, so depending on the cost of the car the total payable with interest at the end could work out more than a brand new one that you could order with your own spec. Worth a thought depending on the figures involved, as that what I did when I was looking for one. I could save a packet on a nearly new one, but when you factored in the interest incurred on either a load or finance the total payable we the same either way, so I treated myself to my first brand new factory ordered car with all the options I wanted and 7 miles on the clock...

Just bought a 160CDti Insignia Tourer automatic. Fuel consumption on a 900 mile motorway trip at near enough a steady 70mph all the way was just over 50mpg.
This compares to my previous Vectra estate, a 2.2 direct automatic which for the same trip returned just below 40mpg.
