Default Urgent help required - H.I.D fitting problem

Well not a problem as such, as some of you may have read yesterday I was going to fit my H.I.D kit well by the time the weather had finished playing up it was getting dark so I never got round to it

Anyway, started fitting today using GG's how to as a guide, only to realise that the kit I had bought already had it's own relay harness made up & suppied, Bonus!

So I started fitting my kit and after doing the drivers side I realised how easy it was, the kit I'd bought also had a very easy step-by-step guide on fitting and as it was supplied with the kit thought I'd just follow it, everythings went in fine (I think) but I'm at the end of the relay and am presented with the following:

I understand the + & - wires are to go to the battery terminals, the relays need to be fixed down, but WTF is that green plug for? does it go into the fusebox? and if so which holes does it plug into, there's no mention of it in the supplied instructions?

Just a suggestion mate, could it be the plug that goes into the HID Ballast?

Sorry, on second look, it looks like an H7 bulb fitting. Does it connect to the original bulb wiring?

Can`t help with where it goes, but you are going to fit a fuse between the relay and battery are you ?

No mate it doesn't, the kit came with two ballasts, one per side, the bulbs plug into the ballasts then there's two long wires that come from the harness that also plug into the ballasts and supply the power, no more sockets/holes in ballasts, I'm pretty sure it's meant for the fuse box, opening the lid and looking into the fusebox it lloks as thought it would plug in very neatly, but where? and I'm not 100% that's what it's for

I've got a feeling that this green plug is actually a capacitor, and if not plugged in creates a broken link in the circuit, tries it before without this and nothing!

unplugged the loom and tried just the feed from the ballasts alone and it came on but flickered like a *******!

It looks like it could plug into the original factory loom, but this should all be in the destructions, what ever anyone suggests is only ever going to be a lucky guess !!!

That little green plug plugged into the factory loom on one side of the car, was still no good though, they were fine when switched on without ignition, however, as soon as you turn the ignition key they they start flickering like strobes

So I pulled the supplied wiring harness out and made up a pair of GG's harnesses, plugged everything in, switched the ignition on and then switched on the lights, resultt....FLICKERING!!!!

So tried switching off the ignition & lights then switching on the lights 1st THEN the ignition and they work fine, so they work, but with "teething" problems I.E they're going to be absolutely no good if I'm driving up a motorway/dual carriageway and need to turn my headlight on, as turning them on when the engine is on results in them flickering! trhis is really beginning to bug me as what should have initially taken a couple of hours has ended up taking a couple of days!!

Does anyone have any suggestion as to what the problem may be? as I'd greatly appreciate any input, even if it is telling me I've done something wrong !

    Cheers

Well, it's the capacitors in the circuit that stop the flickering, if it is that bad, that kind of suggests to me they are not working at all.
It's virtually impossible to diagnose problems remotely, not without be able to stick a meter on the car and see what's going on.
Be warned though, that flickering will damage the ballasts.
You should get away with short tests like this, but if you are trying to use the lights like this you will soon kill the ballast.
I don't understand how the ignition being on or off would make any difference, it shouldn't, not if the looms are as per the how2 and the capacitors are working as they should.

Would it help if I pulled the harnesses I made from the car and took a couple of pics so you can have a look at them mate, as I said I'm not actually using them when they're flickering, one the "correct procedure" has been followed then the lights work fine, but it's a right fart on to get them working right, I'll take a couple of pics of the harnesses tommorow if that'll help?
