stuck in limp mode p 1604 ecu code

Help please,alternator regulator failed on my 2003 sxi 2.2 dti,kicked out 18 volts,changed reg on alternator,what an awful job to get an alternator out !!,cleared codes but cannot clear p1604 code,ecu needs reprogramming,tried everything i know,batt off for couple of hours,please does anyone know where the ecu is located,doing my head in !!!

the ecu is attached/part of the diesel pump down at the front of the engine left hand side

was dreading that answer,are you sure did look last night with a torch,is the ecu detatchable do you know ? this might be a terminal car

thats the only problem with dtis yes you can probably seperate the ecu but you'd need to remove the entire pump first to get enough clearance to remove it.

promise last question..is it straight forward to remove the pump,on a chain drive i believe,in that horrible place of not knowing what to do,wonder if vauxhall could clear code but tried two different diag eqpt,both could clear codes but not the p 1604 code.thank you

not straight forward hell of a lot of work to remove it labour wise and yes its on a chain drive, normally a code wont clear unless the fault is no longer present,

need reprogramming matey u need someone with tech 2 to get the ori file back with ya vin number
