    Default Drunks-They are out there.

Dropped off some relatives in Warminster yesterday. The 400 mile round trip from Chester took seven hours and was completly incident free until I got half a mile from home.

About to turn right across a duel carriageway with the lights for the filter lane on green when I noticed the silver Audi coming in the opposite direction was swerving all over the road.

I stood on the brakes as he cruised straight through the Red Light and missed the front of my car by 6 feet.

Be careful guys. It's the still the season for the ****heads

oops. Was aiming for the general section and missed. Could someone move the thread please?

It frightens the life out of you when something like that happens, glad you got away without him hitting you.But I wonder if he hit someone else a bit further down the road.

Was following one home last night in a Rover 75 on my way back from Oxford.

Thought it was strange the way it was speeding up and slowing down. Anyway, saw a straight bit of road ahead with nothing oncoming, so planted my foot, just as the Rover suddenly weaved right....

ABS and ESP thingy works well.... So does the horn.

This is one thing that really gets to me, even though I did do it a long time back *got the keys and took the car after getting in* not any better than anyone who just took the car out anyway.

    Reasons

1 - You could smash your car
2 - You could lose your license
3 - You could damage someone elses car
4 - You could damage someone else
5 - You could kill someone

Anytime someone should consider DDing they should think of my 5 reasons 1st, imagine waking up knowing you just took the life of another who might have young kids freshly orphaned by you, knowing you cant turn the clock back.

I was lucky, I bent two alloys and wrote off two tyres, got fined £500 when I din't have £500, and nearly lost my job.

THINK BEFORE YOU DRINK BEFORE YOU DRIVE!

I simply have no time or patience for people who get behind the wheel drunk.

In my 17 odd years in the Fire Service I have seen these types wreak havok and carnage, destroying families as well as themselves.

We attended this one a couple of weeks ago. Fella decided to not bother turning at a junction and just to sail through two parked cars and into the front of a house. He got abusive and violent as we were extricating him from the car into the bargain:-

He was lucky not to kill an oncoming driver and his young daughter who had to swerve out of the way to avoid him, otherwise we would have been looking at a head-on collision between the two vehicles.

    food for thought, this one,
i know a constable who shall remain nameless, who was out with an older pc, when they stopped a motorist and proceeded to breathalyse him, before the motorist could finish blowing, the older pc pulled the bag away and said, ok, you're clear.
Looking on astonished, the younger pc was told, "WE ARE FINISHED SHORTLY"
I wonder what would have happened if that motorist had then killed someone!

sheesh....you squirters and your roof flaps....

i've actually had someone ASK me if the fire service will cut the roof off - it's a guaranteed insurance write off if they do!
