Default upgrading head unit advice plz guys :(

    hi Everyone

hope everyones had a gr8 crimbo and looking forward to the new year i know i certainly am could do with a fresh start for the new year so ive decided to buy me a PIONEER P5700DVD head unit as some people have already got.

1, advice needed is wheres the best place to buy a fascia plate would i be able to get it from HalFRAUDS i mean halfords or most ICE shops i have come across some on ebay but now that i want one theres none on there ideally want it the same colour as dash surroundings etc.

2, how do i get the head unit out without breaking anything lol am i going to have to buy a set of removal keys or are there alternative methods?

finally if i want steering controls to work im guessing im going to have to buy an adaptor cable where would i be able to get one of these from?

any advice would be very much appreciated.

thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL

Vauxhall dealers should stock the fascia plate.

To remove the headunit, you need a small allen key to remove the allen bolts covering the stereo removal holes. Then just get some metal clothes hangers, bend and cut them into 2 broad "U" shapes and push them into the holes on either side of the head unit. With a wee bit of fiddling, it'll come out.

Can't help you with the steering wheel controls. I thought it was only Sony and Kenwood you could get adapters for.

When I replaced my stereo in one of my previous Vectra-Cs, the sound quality was actually worse, even though it was a more powerful stereo.

Im about to ditch dab for a pioneer , unit , i cant stand the nasty eq that drops the bass on the headunit when you turn it up , all you get is a shrill with a bit of distortion , will just but a dab tuner for the pioneer to get that feature back

That does happen at times, replacing the old stereo with a new one but not upgrading the door speakers is a noisy thing, it tends to distort the speakers more because they arent rated for what the New H/U is putting out, But what I Noticed with the Newer Vecs the Standard Door Speakers really arent that bad!!
